What happens next?

The open call selection process will be completed by end of October, and all applicants will be notified by e-mail. Filmmakers whose work has been selected for screening will receive more detailed instructions on how to submit their screening media.

Step 4 (3D and 4K filmmakers only). Send in your preview media

After your application form has been sent, all we need is the preview materials of your 3D or 4K dance film (all other films submit their previews as online video links). These can be sent either as an online file transfer or download link (recommended) or on a hard drive/memory stick to the festival office (OK if an online transfer is impractical).

Previews for 3D films should be sent in as separate Left and Right media files, appropriately labeled. Any standard file format and codec is fine – Quicktime MOV’s, AVI’s or MP4′s in Prores or H.264 should work nicely. Please do your best to avoid anything goofy like WMV, FLV or DivX. See the 3D and 4K info page for more details.

Previews for 4K films should be sent as a full-resolution media file in any standard file format and codec (see above).

If you are sending via an online transfer service:
- Send the download link to [email protected] or [email protected].

If you are sending a hard drive:
- For your own sake, please send a portable, compact USB drive that’s designed to travel. As an alternative, consider a CF or SD card of sufficient capacity.
- We will (eventually) return your drive/card at our expense.
- Loikka is not responsible for any media or drives lost or damaged in transit (we do pack carefully though).
