3D- JA 4K-ELOKUVAT / 3D AND 4K FILMS - Nämä teokset vievät tanssielokuvan uuteen ulottuvuuteen – sananmukaisesti. Loikka tuo valkokankaalle ensimmäisen 3D-tanssilyhytelokuvien sarjansa sekä maailman ensimmäisen festivaalinäytöksen huippuresoluutiossa esitetyistä 4K-tanssielokuvista. Tekniikka ei kuitenkaan ole pääosassa, vaan yhdistävänä tekijänä on aina ihmiskehon liike tilassa, paikassa ja ajassa.
This screening takes dance into a new dimension – literally. Loikka presents its first-ever selection of 3D dance shorts as well as the world’s first festival screening of dance films projected at state-of-the-art 4K resolution. However, despite the advanced technology, these films are still about the essentials: The beauty of the human body moving in time, place and space.

Mikä 4K?
“4K” tarkoittaa digitaalisen kuvan esitystarkkuutta, jossa kuvapinnan leveys on noin 4000 pikseliä eli kuvapistettä. Vertailun vuoksi tavanomaisessa digitaalisessa elokuvaprojisoinnissa kuvan leveys on noin 2000 pikseliä (2K) ja Full HD -teräväpiirtokuvassa 1920 pikseliä. 4K-resoluutio tarjoaa merkittävästi perinteistä teräväpiirtoa paremman kuvanlaadun, ja sitä käytetään yleisesti ammattitason elokuvatuotantojen kuvausvaiheessa, mutta hyödyntäminen esitystekniikassa on toistaiseksi suhteellisen vähäistä. What 4K?
The term “4K” refers to digital motion picture technology in which the recorded or projected image is approximately 4,000 pixels wide. For comparison, traditional digital motion picture projection takes place at 2K resolution with an image approximately 2,000 pixels wide, and a Full HD image is 1920 pixels across. 4K offers significantly better image quality compared to traditional HD and is widely used in professional motion picture production; however, opportunities for projection of finished works at 4K remain relatively rare. In television technology, 4K is largely analogous with the term UHD (Ultra High Definition), in which the digital image is 3,840 pixels wide.
