In 360° II the films are viewed with the Samsung Gear VR headsets by choosing the content from the film library. The technology is provided by VR Cinema Finland which enables virtual cinematic experience.
Stuck In The Middle With You is a virtual reality experience that puts you onstage with Sydney Dance Company. Melding dance, documentary and drama, you will find yourself at the centre of the stage interrupting a frenetic performance, where you are engaged in a dialogue with the dancers, challenging them to answer questions of what it means to be a performer. As the dance evolves you too can become a performer in the work. Presented with motion tracked, virtual reality headsets, this immersive experience places you inside of the work, allowing you to engage with the dancers and to see dance in an entirely new way.
Once Upon a Time In The Western Suburbs puts the viewer in the middle of an epic street dance battle with four crews who represent the culturally and sexually diverse communities of Western Sydney. In the suburb, a group of dancers are about to throwdown in a dance bale like no other. This immersive experience culminates by putting the viewer in the middle of a dance bale with all four crews, and inviting you to become a participant. A collaboration between choreographer Gideon Obarzanek, filmmaker Matthew Bate and dancer and performer Bhenji Ra this bold new VR work immerses the viewer into the world of a thriving new street dance culture.
Ghanese dancer and choreographer Vqee physically occupies a room in King’s Room which connects to Danish history of slave trade. King’s Room is a simple but powerful piece with a clear statement speaking of suppressed indigenous cultures.
