The screening takes a stand on the societies and the communities within. The films use dance to describe the contemporary life and they raise a question of what is our role and our responsibility in the world that surrounds us.
Playing with the gender roles, All About You and I Wish I Was a Man dress women in men’s clothing in the working environment. The dance keeps flowing through the grey streets and landscapes in which men are in control. Questions of identity are also addressed in CtrlC/ctrlV which presents people as replicas of each other without a will of their own.
Wrongheaded, The Line and Drop Out Bodies combine intensive soundscape and poetic storytelling into a seamless entity which shakens the viewer. Addressing the strict abortions laws of Ireland, Wrongheaded is a strong statement by three female artists about the painful and important subject. The Line leads the viewer into a prison of the human mind from which escaping can often be difficult. In Drop Out Bodies, people have gathered in the courtyard of an idyllic neighborhood almost as if to wait for their final judgement.
Big questions are also addressed on A Poly Love Story depicting polyamour ands asking, is love diminished if it’s shared.
