Future Screens of Dance – international dance film conference in Helsinki 5.-6.4. 2018

Along with the Loikka Dance Film Festival celebrating its’ 10th anniversary, we are arranging an international Future Screens of Dance conference. The confirmed conference dates are 5.-6.4.2018. We welcome dance filmmakers, organisations working in the field of art and new technologies as well as a wide group of artists to examine, discuss and enable the diversity and vibrancy of the art form. The conference is interlocked with the festival and it encourages in artistic and scholarly exchange, debate and discussion in screen-dance and related disciplines including physical performance, dance, film, media/visual arts, virtual reality and sound.

We will announce an open call for papers and presentations under specified topics. We especially welcome presentations that are discursive and interactive. Open call period ends on December 1st 2017. The language of the conference is English.
